A Better World

Street Kids International
You’ve read about how a Canadian started Street Kids International to help kids earn some money to escape poverty. Check out this clip from SKI that shows how one Ethiopian girl became a grain seller.

Farm Radio in Action
Since 1979, Ottawa-based Farm Radio International has been providing information on better ways to farm through African radio stations. Here, a man explains how he’s grinding neem leaves to stop damaging insects called borers.

Young Artists for Haiti
Take an awesome song, change the lyrics a bit to relate to the terrible earthquake in Haiti, and add some of Canada’s most amazing young musical artists. The result is Young Artists for Haiti’s 2010 version of “Wavin’ Flag,” which has raised more than a million dollars.
