This project explores when shipbuilding started in Saint John and covers how it changed over the years. If also gives a glimpse of the Port of Saint John and how shipbuilding helped mold the city we see today. A few notable ships like the Marco Polo and the HMCS Sackville have been discussed.

Lucy - Wellington, Prince Edward Island

Située dans le village Acadien de Wellington au coeur de la région Évangéline de l'ÎPÉ, est la maison Emmanuel F. Gaudet construite en 1914. Je vais vous parlez de E.F. Gaudet et sa famille et les générations de sa famille qui ont habités la maison. L'autre grande partie du projet parle de l'architect local, le Docteur André Gallant, qui a fait les plans de la maison ainsi que d'autres bâtisses du village.

Are you ready for Young Citizens? Here are the key dates so you know what’s coming up next.

April/May — Young Citizens are selected at their regional Heritage Fairs across Canada.

June 5th — All Young Citizens should submit their videos to Canada’s History by this date.

June 12th — Voting Opens! Go to the profiles on YoungCitizens.ca and start voting for your favorite videos. You will be able to vote once for each video!

June 22nd — Voting Closes

August 31st — Winners will be contacted by this date.

Fall, 2018 — Winners will travel to Ottawa for the Canada’s History Forum (date to be confirmed)
