Project: What stories these objects could tell

Talking about the old objects and what they were used for. Collections and toys from when my parents and grandparents were my age. It's for people to walk by and say, "oh, I haven't seen one of those in years.

What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?

I found the items interesting along with the stories that they all brought along. How things had a multi purpose and they were made for 2 reasons. Also how and when they were used by my family and friends.

What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?

I want other people to learn about the history, about the things my parents and grandparents used when they were small, that they may still use now. If my relatives didn't tell me about these things, I would not have known. We must keep telling others about them too.

How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?

Most of the items we have now, we plug into an outlet. And most of the things that my parents, and my grandparents used to use, they would use their muscles more than we do now. i think it is important to keep the stories alive.

How good, Shana, that you have understood the value of things that are all too easily taken for granted ! Time goes by and the efforts that past generations have put into creating useful objects must neither be minimized nor forgotten. You have contributed to keeping them alive. BRAVO !
