Naman Vancouver, British Columbia

Fair address: Vancouver Heritage Fair

Project: Wilder Penfield

Wilder Penfield was an American-Canadian nuerosurgeon. He had done many things to improve brain surgery, such as figuring out where Deja Vu stemmed from, the Homunculus, curing Epilepsy and finally, doing Brain Surgery while awake.

What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?

The brain map, also known as the Homunculus was something that I had heard of before. But, I didn’t know that Penfield had discovered this brain map!

What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?

Penfield had done many things to help in our understanding of the brain and developed lifesaving techniques. You would expect this man to be world-famous, but not a lot of people know about this man. We need to give more respect to people who have done wonders to help us all, like this man.

How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?

I was also very into Science, just like Penfield. But, other than that our lives were completely different.
